An invitation to become a member of Show Me Dharma
Why does Show Me Dharma have a membership?
Show Me Dharma (SMD) has changed the organization bylaws to create a membership which will elect the Board of Trustees. This will expand governance and support and encourage the development of community through member participation.
What does becoming a member mean?
It means that you support the objectives and purpose of SMD as noted in our mission statement at the bottom of this page.
What is expected of me as a member?
In addition to supporting our objectives and purpose, members elect the Board of Directors at an annual meeting and are eligible to be elected to serve on the Board. Members can opt to receive emails such as minutes of our board meetings and be informed of opportunities to volunteer your time such as serving on committees or other activities. Members are expected to keep their contact information up to date.
Is there a cost to join and how long does my membership last?
There are no membership costs or dues. Membership shall continue indefinitely unless you inform SMD that you wish to no longer be a member. To keep our membership list up to date, we may periodically ask you if you wish to continue your membership; and you have 45 days to respond.
Is my membership information shared with others?
SMD respects your privacy and will not share your membership information with any outside entities without your permission unless required by law.
How do I join?
Simply send an email to showmedharma@gmail.org with the following information:
State that you would like to become a member. Include your name, address, phone number and preferred email address. You will receive a confirmation shortly.

SHOW ME DHARMA is dedicated to making the study and practice of Insight Meditation available to Mid-Missouri. We support and encourage the development of community based upon Theravadan Buddhist ideals, teachings and practices.
